5 Steps to Build Your Home
1. Planning and Design
We begin by understanding your vision, budget, and requirements. You’ll work with one of our qualified builders to create a floor plan that suits your block and lifestyle, and they will assess your block and take heights. We prepare a custom preliminary plan with a full quote and specifications for $2500 + GST, which is deducted from your final build cost when you go to contract. This process typically takes 2 – 3 weeks.
2. Approvals and Selections
Before construction begins, you must obtain the necessary council approvals and building permits. We order soil tests, engineering, plumbing permits, full work drawings, energy reports and more, ensuring your home complies with council laws and building codes. During this stage, you will also complete your selections and finishes. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
3. Site Preparation and Foundation
Your site is cleared and prepared using an experienced contractor who lasers, compacts, and levels the building pad. The foundation or slab is laid as per the engineering requirements on the prepared surface. This is a critical stage, as it forms the structural base for the entire home. This is normally done over 4 weeks.
4. Construction Phase
The main structure is built, including framing, roofing, walls, windows, plumbing, and electrical systems. This is where your home starts to take shape. We keep you involved throughout with regular site visits, ensuring you stay informed on progress. Progress payments are made as per your contract during the construction period. Building takes roughly 16 – 20 weeks.
5. Finishing and Handover
Final touch-ups are completed by our team of experience builders and carpenters, followed by thorough inspections and quality checks. Once everything meets our standards, your home is handed over, ready for you to move in and enjoy.
