We owned our block of land for over ten years, and to be honest, the thought of building felt quite overwhelming. There were the obvious concerns around finances, but also the decision making and the stress of building while juggling full time work and family life. It eventually became a now or never situation, and we were able to move forward with confidence thanks to the guidance of our builder, Villie Building, and in particular Glen Finning.
We are quite black and white people, so compromise didn’t always come easily. What we came to appreciate throughout the process, however, was that no request ever felt unreasonable. Glen’s pragmatic and calm approach was exactly what we needed. Nothing was ever a bother, even when we realised we had made mistakes along the way.
We had a clear floor plan in mind from the outset, but Glen suggested an amendment that ultimately worked out perfectly. Glen and his team were incredibly approachable and generous in allowing us to be part of the process every step of the way. The design we created together truly reflects how we live, and we wouldn’t change a thing. Looking back now, we can’t help but wonder what we were so worried about as the entire experience was far less stressful than we anticipated, and absolutely worth the wait.
